RCMB 8 has launched a Facebook (FB) Messenger account that will allow workers and employers to access NCMB’s technical assistance service without going out of their homes or workplaces.
Director Rogen Cumba said they are hoping that this resource will be able to provide both workers and management an avenue to ask their questions regarding work-related problems. “We decided to use FB Messenger as it is the most popularly used application in Region 8 today,” Dir. Cumba shared.
According to Dir. Cumba, the account was launched as a preventive measure to curb the spread of COVID-19 as RCMB8 has been experiencing an upsurge of clients visiting the office to seek work-related advice. “Our office is small, we cannot accommodate them all because we will be breaking social distancing rules,” he added.
If the labor issue necessitates the filing of a request for assistance, clients will fill out an online form and attend the online conciliation conference through FB Messenger.
RCMB8 has given assistance to eight workers on the first day of the launch.
“We are off to a promising start,” said LEO III Papiniano O. Macayan III. “We hope for the continued success of our online facility because at the end of the day, we want to continue our services despite being in today’s crisis,” Macayan stated. For concerns, workers and employers may send a message through FB on our NCMB RBVIII (Online Assistance) account. Staff will respond to messages Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
